Our Programmes
Four pillars of rehabilitation: Sports Development, Skills Development, Recreation & Culture, and Family & Community Reintegration, each designed to transform lives from the inside out.

Sports Development
We give offenders something meaningful to train for, compete in and support their teams, replacing idleness, gangsterism and drug abuse with discipline, teamwork and achievement.
ROTSTAR uses structured sporting and recreational activities to build the mental and physical discipline that prevents re-offending. When offenders have a team to train with, goals to chase, matches to win and team support, the pull of the gang loses its power. Our sports programmes are open to all offenders regardless of background.

Sponsorship Opportunity
We are seeking sponsors for financial support, sports and recreational equipment, team kits, training equipment, skills sponsorship and second-chance partners.

Skills Development
SETA-approved accredited training programmes leading to nationally recognised certificates, giving offenders practical skills to improve their employment opportunities after release.
Without employment opportunities, release from prison often leads straight back to crime. ROTSTAR provides access to industry-relevant SETA-approved vocational training. These are not just courses, they are pathways to legitimate income and productive futures. All programmes lead to nationally recognised qualifications.

Recreation & Culture
Cultural expression gives participants identity, pride and a sense of belonging, powerful alternatives to gang identity and destructive behaviour.
Our recreational and cultural programmes give offenders a source of pride and belonging that does not depend on gang affiliation. Traditional Zulu dancing and Isicathamiya connect participants to their heritage, build team discipline, and provide creative expression that displaces negative behaviour with something meaningful and beautiful.

Family & Community Reintegration
Successful rehabilitation extends beyond the Correctional Centre. ROTSTAR works with families, communities and employers to ensure offenders return to society ready to contribute productively.
A person who is reconnected with their family, who has children waiting for them, employers ready to take them on and communities prepared to accept them, is a person with every reason not to return to prison. ROTSTAR builds these bridges before release, not after.
No One Left Behind
On Family Day, not every offender has a visitor waiting for them. For those without family able to attend, the day can bring deep sadness and depression, watching others reunite while feeling forgotten. ROTSTAR is committed to making sure no one is left behind, offering every participant care, encouragement and a sense of belonging, family or not.
