Born From Within the System
ROTSTAR NPC was established by an offender who spent 13 years incarcerated in a Correctional Centre. During that time, he became involved in gang activities, abused drugs daily and witnessed first-hand how gangsterism, violence and hopelessness trapped offenders in a cycle of repeat offending.
Determined to change his own life, he envisioned creating positive group activities that encouraged teamwork, discipline and hope while steering offenders away from negative influences. These experiences inspired the creation of ROTSTAR NPC, along with a Board of Directors who are passionate about this cause because they have all experienced the downward spiral of family and friends who have, at some point, been incarcerated.
Today, ROTSTAR is dedicated to rehabilitating offenders through Sports, Training and Recreation while helping transform Correctional Centres into positive learning environments.

Our Sports and Recreational Activities are designed to keep offenders physically active, mentally relaxed, positively engaged and focused on changing their situations. These structured programmes reduce idleness, discourage gangsterism and substance abuse, improve emotional well-being and encourage positive decision-making.
ROTSTAR also provides access to SETA-approved accredited training programmes leading to nationally recognised certificates, giving offenders practical skills to improve their employment opportunities after release.
We further recognise that successful rehabilitation extends beyond the Correctional Centre. Through partnerships with families, communities, employers, government departments, accredited training providers and sponsors, ROTSTAR supports offenders as they reintegrate into society and build productive, law-abiding lives.
ROTSTAR's Sports and Recreational programmes are designed to positively impact the entire offender population, not only those participating in the activities. By encouraging offenders to support their teams, celebrate achievements, and share in the excitement of competitions and events, ROTSTAR creates a positive atmosphere that promotes hope, unity, relaxation, and constructive engagement. This helps shift attention away from gangsterism, drug abuse, violence, and other negative aspects of incarceration while fostering a culture of rehabilitation.
